We started our brand under the name ‘diamonds are evil,’ which was linked to our strong opinion of the diamond industry and its lack of ethics. We saw an absence of knowledge and no transparency about gemstones and diamonds and ethical sourcing. We wanted to create a brand identity that, at the very least, started a conversation. The ‘Diamonds Are Evil’ collection draws inspiration from our original classics, reimagines them in new materials, and stays true to our mission of ethical and sustainable design.

Founded by Meredith Christine and Michael Murphy, Fool’s Gold set out to elevate ethical and accessible materials into a modern line of products. The brand draws its inspiration from art, music, design and sustainability. Each item, concept or idea exists in unity with both people and the planet. Each Fool’s Gold jewelry piece is meticulously handmade.
